Type of Athlete: Mainly bouldering, additionally cycling and running
Favorite Outdoor Location: Wisconsin Driftless Area
I learned the basics of rock climbing at scout camp when I was 12, but have been climbing consistently since 2012. My interests in the subtleties of climbing were piqued during an extracurricular class in college. My instructor introduced me to the styles and skills climbing offers. That class inspired long lasting friendships and illustrated the comradery of the climbing community as a whole.
What I love best about the sport is the problem solving with reading a new route or boulder, and the variety of technique and training associated with the development of a climber as an athlete. In the future I am hoping to explore new areas to climb. Some of my favorite trips have been to climb on the amazing rock quality in the Southeast, and I look forward to what future trips hold!
